Founding
Before you right-click with the flag, this has to be true:
- You are no longer in a camp. Members type
/camp leave, the owner/camp disband. Empty your chests first. - You are not the mayor of an existing town.
- The spot is at least 1000 blocks from spawn.
- The spot is at least 15 chunks from the culture of another civilization.
- The ground is flat and solid. The Capitol is large: count on an area of about 4 by 4 chunks.
Then it goes like this:
- Stand on the spot and right-click with the flag.
- Type the name of your civilization. Letters only.
- Type the name of your capital. Letters only.
- The game shows what the land around you yields. Type
yesto confirm. Anything else cancels.
The Capitol is then built block by block. The game reports the estimated build time; it depends on the hammers your land yields, and so on the biome.
What you have now
- You are leader of the civilization and mayor of the capital.
- The capital has its own piece of land and a culture border around it.
- The Capitol gives 50 culture per hour, has control blocks you have to defend in war, shows your research and has frames for trade goodies.
The first steps as a civilization
- Fill the treasury.
/town deposit <amount>puts coins in the town treasury. Structures, claims and upkeep are paid from it. - Start research.
/civ research listshows what is possible,/civ research on <tech>starts it. See Research. - Invite people.
/town add <name>, and they answer with/accept. - Claim land inside your culture border with
/town claim. See Running your town. - Build your first structures with
/build. See Structures.
